Jennifer Aniston’s portrayal of one of the most iconic characters in TV history. It has earned her the unofficial nickname of sitcom queen. It’s a fair title; she did spend ten whole years of her life playing the vain fashionista Rachel Green on the hit 90s sitcom Friends. But in recent years, a younger actress has emerged to challenge Aniston for her throne.
3 years after Jennifer officially retired her iconic TV role, an obscure actress by the name of Kaley Cuoco entered the comedy scene as Penny on the nerd sitcom The Big Bang Theory. Since the pilot, the actress has come a long way. Just recently, Kaley Cuoco, together with Jim Parsons and John Galecki, have successfully renegotiated their per-episode salaries at a whopping $1 million. Jennifer Aniston and the gang had the same salary on their last season.
The physical and individual similarities between Jennifer Aniston and Kaley Cuoco’s; characters have frequently made fans of the two shows look at the two; and therefore, the two entertainers who depict them. Jennifer made the quirky, rural turned-city lady diva a famous TV saying. While Kaley tried different things with the job and added her own “innocent young lady” flavor to it.
So who does it better? Jennifer or Kaley?
The real comparison:
As fun wise, the two entertainers are “blonde, adorable, interesting, likeable young ladies next-door known for playing, indeed, blonde, charming and funny young ladies nearby.” However, when character depth is considered in, Aniston certainly wins the round.
The helpless suburban lady of the hour Aniston presented in the previous season magically transformed into the independent fashion leader she became to be during the latter years, wowing fans over the consistent change.
On the other hand, critics of TBBT think Penny still can’t seem to achieve similar seven seasons into the show. Penny hasn’t significantly grown in the course of the last seven seasons.
To be reasonable, some portion of what makes Big Bang a great show is Penny and the striking contrast she gives to the entire nerd setting. The main non-scientist of the group.
